SPAY & NEUTER PROGRAM

Why Have My Pet Spayed/Neutered?

Advantages:
1. Helps to eliminate unwanted male callers which become a nuisance and troublesome.
2. Will reduce tendencies for animals to roam, which helps prevent injury or death from auto accidents and fights with other animals.
3. In most cases, male cats will stop spraying which can leave an unpleasant odor in and around the house.
4. In female animals, sterilization eliminates the possibility of uterine infection, tumor, cancer, and false pregnancies. Most dogs and cats will continue to come into heat well into old age unless spayed.
5. Helps prevent the numerous births of unwanted animals and helps to eliminate unwanted behavior and characteristics.

Myths and fallacies about spaying/neutering
Your pet will not gain weight due to surgery, but from an improper diet and lack of exercise. The procedure does not alter their abilities to perform jobs such as watch/guard dog

What is a spay operation?
The veterinarian will surgically remove both ovaries, uterine horns, and part of the uterine body.

What is the neutering operation?
The veterinarian will remove both testicles with an incision on the scrotum. The abdomen of the animal will not be opened, because the normal male reproductive organs are located outside the body.
